The last batch of cards for the festival!

The festival came and went and I still haven't showed you the last cards I made. This was the night before the event and I hope my sleepiness didn't affect the result. :-) If you want to check out the previous batches of cards, try here: 1st part, 2nd part, 3rd part, 4th part, 5th part, 6th part and 7th part.

Here are the pictures I made and here these are the cards that I came up with.

1. Although I found the idea of this picture online, I've placed " the kids" in a different position. Did I mention I love purple! LoL

Carrot festival09001

2. This one is very vintage, not like I was imagining it at the beginning, but I think it came out good.

Carrot festival09002

3.This one I am very fond of. It's like a winter story, that unfolds when you look at it.

Carrot festival09004

4. A basket of flowers, what can be better? :-)

Carrot festival09006

5. Now this one I made half asleep LoL

Carrot festival09007

6. I have a couple " girl-y" ones, but this one was the first I made I think.

Carrot festival09008

7. I apologize for the quality of this picture, but it was very dark in the room and it took me a lot of time to figure out how to compensate that. I guess being tired showed up at this moment, because I don't have a single picture of this card that is on focus. The clouds are made of fuzz balls cut in half.

8. Who doesn't know the old nursery rhyme : Hey diddle diddle, The cat and the fiddle, The cow jumped over the moon, The little dog laughed to see such sport, And the dish ran away with the spoon

Carrot festival09010

9. I absolutely love this one!!! It's one of my favorite of all the cards I made! I think it turned out awesome! ( am I modest or what?! LoL)

Carrot festival09011

10. The cutest girl-y card ever! :-)

Carrot festival09012

11. I don't know why, but this card reminds me of my mom. It actually makes me sad to look at it, since I haven't seen my mom in 5 years, but that doesn't mean I don't like it. It's actually very dear to me.

Carrot festival09013

12. I've put a lot of thought in this one. It was the first one from the ones with drawings that I made and I wanted to make sure it came out good. The girl and the mirror/frame/window made me think of what girls long for, what they are thinking off. I think it came out good, captured the moment so to speak.

Carrot festival09014

13. What a girl wants? A best friend of course!

Carrot festival09015

14. This one I like as much as the one with the mirror/frame/window thing.

Carrot festival09016

A girl just got to love her books! ( the shiny elements weren't visible on the previous picture)

Carrot festival09017

15. After I've run out of pictures to add to the cards, it was very late but I just had an impulse to make some more. :-) So, here are the bonus ones:

Carrot festival09018

16. I think I'll get a quilling tool! This one I made with my hands, but it takes more than that to make a good quilling card. I was inspired by this very talented lady, thank you Kukuletka!

As a bonus feature today, here are 2 more boxes that I pyrographed the day before the festival.

I know that the festival is over, but I didn't manage to show you all of the cards I prepared for it. If you want to check out the previous and next batches of cards, try here: 1st part, 2nd part, 3rd part, 4th part, 5th part, 6th part and the last 8th part.

1. A small gift card for a paper bag

2. A cute flower card

cards2ndbatch086

3. This is one of my favorite ones! I just love the idea of simplicity, with not too much stuff on the card but a lot of meaning woven into it.

cards2ndbatch089

4. A purple card from the purple lover again. I don't know why but the pictures of purple never represent the true color! I've tried everything and it's still not the same.

cards2ndbatch092

5. A card for little artists :-)

cards2ndbatch093

This is how it opens

cards2ndbatch094

6. This is a medium size card. The colors didn't come out good on these picture, it was actually way better in person.

cards2ndbatch098

7. Medium size card again. I love the color of this paper

cards2ndbatch100

8. This was a regular orange paper, I've made the design on it. The doves are actually 4, the dark brown ones that look like a shade are separate pieces.

9. Purple again! :-)

Back from the craft festival!

Hi, I'm back and I'm knocking ( as Mr Opportunity says)! I survived! I can't believe that I did it! Really! It wasn't as scary as I thought at all! I was a little discouraged at the beginning but it picked up slowly and by the end of the day I've sold 1/2 of what I've brought, which I think is good! :-) Pointers for those who consider going on a craft festival: - bring a lot of bags ( by the end of the day I barely had one left) - bring a lot of business cards ( I brought 100 and they didn't last 4 hours!) - bring an extra bottle of water- I run out of water but since I was by myself I couldn't leave my place. - no matter how much change you think of bringing, double that! :-) It was great actually, but I feel exhausted! I mean all this stress because I had so little time to prepare and the questions " Is it enough?" and " Is it too much?" were bugging me for the past 2 months! But I am so glad it's over! Now I can start planing the next one! :-) I have a couple of pictures, I apologize for the quality, but what can you do...I am person that loves to be behind the camera, not in front of it :-)

Here is one:

I have a lot more cards to show you, I've actually managed to finish all 14 I was supposed to yesterday before the festival and I even made 3 more! Not bad for a day's work :-) But I am drained, I really need to rest, because the last 2 days I had total 4 hours of sleep! So, tomorrow- more cards! Enjoy the Fall, my favorite season!

A slightly different card post

I have been working on some sketches for the cards with hand drawings and I wanted to show you. I have more cards of course, but these illustrations are something very new to me and I wanted to share how I've done them. Basically at first I've looked for cute pictures online to look at. I've never tried drawing " cartoon" type of pictures, so it was very difficult at first to figure out how they are supposed to look like. So I needed guidance until I was ready to make my own. The drawings that I made I made by hand with a pencil and paper ( blue and orange) for the sketches, then with the help of a light box I've transferred them on white cardstock. After that I've used Prismacolor pencils to color the images, then I've used some Gamsol on top of that to blend the colors. A friend told me about the Copic markers and they are probably better for the job but unfortunately they are really expensive, so I had to figure out a way to do this. It was between watercolor pencils, the Prismacolor pencils+ Gamsol and watercolor. I've decided for the Gamsol, since I haven't used it that much and wanted to learn how to do that. Have in mind, that for some of the drawings I've looked at stamps like these but I drew them myself with pencil. Sometimes I drew similar images in different positions/situations and some of them are completely my own design etc. I apologize I don't have all the websites I've looked at, since I was just browsing though Google Images, but here are few: ScrapBitz,Handmade by Odette etc. Here is what they looked like when they were sketched and when finished. I'll use them to make more cards today, before the festival.
